Caroline’s Ride to Recovery

Over four years ago Caroline Streng; a friend and client of mine was in a serious road bike accident. She was struck by a car and was seriously crippled breaking almost every bone in her body. Before the accident she was doing century bike rides and participating in a different outdoor event every weekend including my boot camps and du-athalons with her fiance’! To make matters worse she was newly engaged and planning her wedding from a wheel chair, this was definitely not the active life she was used to living or the future she had planned for herself. After numerous surgeries and countless hours of physical therapy and a ton of determination to regain her strength and fitness, Caroline is back in the saddle and riding again! I am so proud of her for not giving up and coming in to train even when I know she was hurting, she still worked through the pain! She has gained so much strength not just physically, but mentally and emotionally as well.

Looking at the picture below – Caroline is getting ready to ride in “The Vow of Silence Ride” which is a ride in honor of those who have been killed in road biking accidents where the victims have lost their lives. Caroline is so fortunate to be a survivor and looks forward to helping others overcome this kind of devastation and move forward with their lives.

Raquel’s Success Story!

There is an old saying that goes “Give a man a fish and you have fed him for a day; Teach a man to fish and you have fed him for a lifetime.” The training that I have received through Melissa has not only helped me to get in shape but has shown me how to stay in shape for the rest of my life.
Before training with Melissa, I was unhealthy and was ashamed of the body that God blessed me with. All of the knowledge and and practical teaching I have received has helped me to feel beautiful and sexy again. I now have energy to play with my children and am a more energetic wife for my husband. Literally, the money spent on these training sessions with Melissa has been the best gift I could have given myself. Thank you, Melissa for showing me that I have the ability to change my physical body and my outlook on life. Here’s to a wonderful and healthy future!

Crystal’s Success Story

Crystal came to me in March of 2009 looking to continue her weight loss, gain strength and build self confidence. Yesterday Crystal just completed her first Sprint Triathlon at Rancho Seco Park in Herald, Ca. A sprint triathlon consists of a 1/2 mile swim, 16 mile bike ride ( which was very hilly) followed up by a 3 mile run. Her overall time was 1:50:42! She did awesome! I am so proud of her!
